Historic 1800 Tannenberg Organ

The historical importance of the magnificent organ David Tannenberg completed in 1800 for Home Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was recognized at the time of its dismantling in 1910 and it was not destroyed, but remained in storage in various locations for eighty-eight years.

With meticulous care and understanding, the organ has now been returned to its original state by Taylor & Boody Organbuilders. Musically and visually it stands in Old Salem as a tribute to the talent and craftsmanship of a master organ builder and his remarkable musical
achievement in the North Carolina Backcountry.

This program includes music by Moravian composers and music by
European composers from the Moravian Music Archives in Winston-Salem, NC.
